… looking down at the Burr Trail dirt road through all sorts of back country canyons, rock formations and hills at Capitol Reef National Park in central Utah. The sort of dirt road triangle just right of the center of the image is where the Burr Trail meets up with Notom-Bullfrog road. Burr Trail Road is actually a pretty decent road; it is paved for about half, then the dirt road section is pretty well maintained. It starts in Boulder, Utah on Highway 12 and ends up in Capitol Reef. Notom-Bullfrog road, on the other hand, is not the best maintained dirt road when it gets this far south and can definitely be quite rutty when dry and muddy when wet. It is a really amazing drive and worth taking the long-cut.
